Teachers in the Bono East Region much particularly the Sene East District have been passing through a lingering problem which is making almost all the teachers trying to leave the district due to that perpetual situation they have been facing through.
In the Sene East District 100% of the roads to the surrounding villages are feeder and unaccessible. During the rainy season it is usually a headache and so devastating for the teachers in the district since they can not access their schools for teaching and learning to take place. In recent times the appeal for proper roads for the people of Kajaji and it’s environs has fallen on death ears.
Sene East is dominated by farmers and fishers based on this it is an undeniable fact that the district have been contributing significantly to the development of this country most especially in the areas of fish and yam pepper.
However, the government have been adamant to the needs of this people which is affecting the district negatively and retarding development in the enclave. Teachers have been stranded everywhere trying to find various options to go to their villages thus schools. This is because there are no proper roads in the enclave and it is also surrounded by the white volta and river Sene which makes so many streams to criss cross in most of the feeder ways and this streams have no bridges constructed in them making the situation worsen for the teachers.
The Education director have soliciting for support on this lingering issues likewise the new DCE but there is no help for them. The people are pleading for roads relieve to the government, NGOs and all stakeholders who could help them in the district since it’s affecting their wards education, instigating teachers to leave the district in large numbers, health and many more.
