Ghana-Brazil Clash: Lower Your Expectations As Starting Squad Finally Pops Up

As the Black Stars take on the number 1️ ranked team in the world tonight, Ghanaians will usually take it beyond the “friendly match” tag. Most Ghanaians will be expecting the Stars to do the unthinkable by beating a team largely dominated by superstars.

Truth be told, we could take pride in getting a good result against the former world champions, but the results in this game would not mean much in the larger picture. The type of performance though, or how these players can respond to the coach’s tactical dispensation should rather be the key thing every well-meaning Ghanaian should look out for in the game.

The team has got a couple of new players and we have to keep an eye on how they gel with the older players.

The most important thing to look out for in tonight’s match must not result. The most important thing must be the willingness and desire of this crop of players to fight for the flag. The most important thing is to see the desire in the eyes of the boys.

Ghana’s confirmed line up below:

Jojo Walcott, Denis Odoi, Gideon Mensah, Alex Djiku, Dan Amartey ‘Thomas Partey, Andre Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Kudus Mohammed, Afena-Gyan, Kamaldeen Sulemana

Let us manage our expectations this evening because it’s just a friendly against a team who could even wallop Black Stars. What we learn from the game moving forward will mean a lot more than the final score.
