The Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council on Monday, September 19 received Staff and students under Junior Division Course 78 of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) who are on an environmental study tour of selected Municipalities and Districts of the Volta Region.
The Municipalities and Districts are Ho, Ketu North, Ketu South, Afadzato South, Ho West, Central Tongu North Tongu and South Tongu.Â
The Tour is centred around five thematic areas, namely Healthcare Delivery, Child-Trafficking, Sanitation and Solid Waste Management, Tourism, Terrorism and Threats of Secessionism which would have some socio-economic impact on the Region. Â
The study is being undertaken by sixty-four (64) students comprising Forty-eight (48) Ghanaians, Eleven (11) Nigerians, Two (2) Liberians, Two (2) Sierra Leoneans and a Gambian under the supervision of Thirteen (13) Directing Staff.
At the Residency Conference Hall where presentations were made by respective Regional Heads of Department and Agency on the thematic areas to the students, The contingent had the opportunity to welcome the Directing Staff and the students to the Region.Â
Furthermore, the group acknowledged how relevant the study would be to the Region.Â
Prior to the meeting at the Residency Conference Hall, the Assistant Commandant of the College, Brig. Gen. A.K. Dawohoso led members of the Directing Staff to pay a courtesy call on the head of operations at his office.
