Ghanaians React As Bawumia Attends Thanksgiving Service Of Queen Elizabeth In Accra

The longest serving monarch of the United Kingdom passed away last week Thursday and plans have it that on September 19, the late Queen will be laid to rest. Her son will be her successor and Charles III knows he has an herculean task ahead of him in holding the nation together in these trying times. For Ghana, the late Queen shared fond memories with the country as she visited the country twice.

It is no secret that the Church of Anglican has its root in England and the church across the world will be holding services for the late Queen. Yesterday, The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion held a thanksgiving service for the Queen at the Cathedral of Advent, Abuja. The event was attended by a number of high dignitaries in the country.

Today, Friday, September 16, 2022, The Internal Province of Ghana (Anglican Communion) in collaboration with the British High Commission also held a Thanksgiving Service for the late Queen. The programme saw Vice President and other officials in attendance.

Many Ghanaian are reacting wondering whether if a thanksgiving service was important at this time. Others note that Ghana has more important issues to deal with than to hold services for someone who didn’t even care about the country. Check out some of the reactions.
