The member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi constituency, Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has reacted to the trending news in the country about Akufo Addo’s statement on Aisha Huang’s deportation.
It has been reported on several social media platforms that President Akufo Addo said that he is not sure if Aisha Huang left the country when she was deported.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has reacted to this statement and has made it clear that the President never made such a statement. According to him, all that the president said was that he is not sure whether Aisha Huang was deported or she fled(repatriated).
“Akufo Addo has never said he isn’t sure if Aisha Huang left Ghana. Please quote him well. He said he wasn’t sure whether she was deported or she fled. The reason for the President’s comment is that there is a difference between deportation and repatriation” he said.
This comes after the President expressed his uncertainty about the action taken by his appointees assured of a commitment to prosecute the illegal miner following her re-arrest.
“I’m not still sure whether she was in fact deported, or whether she fled the country the first time and has now come back. There still seems to be some uncertainty about it,” he said.
This statement from the president has generated several reactions. Most people misunderstood what the president said. Some persons believe that the president has been misled by his own officials. Others made it clear that the president even knows that Aisha Huang never left the country.
