22/23 La Liga Santander Team of the Week After Round 5: Robert Lewandowski – Player of the Week

Another exciting La Liga Santander Week wrapped up on Monday for round 5, here is the Team of the Week based on the highest-scored statistics.

Goalkeeper

Rui Silva (Betis)

One of the three goalkeepers to have kept a clean sheet this week, Silva was pretty convincing for the post, given his 2 saves and a smart stop.

Defenders

Mouctar Diakhaby (Valencia)

A powerhouse in the backline, although conceded twice – the Guinean defensive displays received high praise – his 9 clearances, 2 key passes, bold last-man tackle and the consolation goal against Vallecano were enough to earn him a spot.

Jose Angel Carmona (Sevilla)

Long awaited win of the season was made possible courtesy of the 20-year-old versatile defender’s brace and an assist in their trip to Espanyol.

Luiz Felipe (Betis)

Featured in last week’s team, Felipe was in the momentum this week -protected the backline in high defensive records- 6 clearances, 93% accuracy and 3 blocked shots to cloud Villarreal’s hopes of winning or earning a point.

Aleix Garcia (Girona)

Man of the match against Real Valladolid as they sealed from home on a 2-1 score-line, Garcia’s work rate and balanced plays in the midfield were magnificent his assist.

Had his first goal of the season last week, the Brazillian winger was on the score-sheet once against as they beat RC Mallorca at home a provided assist.

Alex Berenguer (Athletic)

Very explosive on the wings, Alex’s presence was felt in his side’s 4-1 win in which he scored and earned the highest rating.

Strikers

Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona)

Made a great impact from the bench in 33 minutes featured – grabbed his sixth goal in the competition and provided two assists, the Polish star was arguably the best striker this week paired with Getafe Enes Unal who scored and assisted in their win over Sociedad.
