The most talked-about news among Ghanaians is the government’s intention to disconnect all sim card that are not fully re-registered.
Nana Kwaku Gyabeng, who is the Managing Director of Wassa East based radio station, Wassaman Fm at Wassa Ateiku in the Wassa East district of western region has revealed that, the government is fighting itself with the punitive measures that has been enrolled by national communication authority to deactivate all sim cards that have not been fully reregistered.
Nana Kwaku Gyabeng explained that, the success of the E-levy is solely dependant on the Ghanaians who use their sim cards for the various mobile money transactions, so when the government begins to disconnect the sim cards, it implies low revenue generation from the E-levy
In an interview with Wassaman FM, Nana Kwaku Gyabeng appealed to the government to dedicate the entire 2022 year for this sim card reregistration exercise so that, majority of the people can be captured.
