We Will ‘Fight’ Till You Admit You Were Wrong – Sam George Boldly Tells Akufo-Addo Appointee

There has been so much talk about the ongoing SIM card registration. According to the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization only the Ghana card will serve as a form of registration for the SIMs. This meant that all those without the card had to do everything possible to get the card. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful on the last day of July gave Ghanaian up to September 30 to register their SIM cards.

However, before that those who are yet to register by August ending will face some punitive actions. The enforcement of these punitive actions such as temporary blocking of SIMs as well as restrictions on data usage hasn’t gone down well with many Ghanaians. Many Ghanaians have expressed their dissatisfaction with this measure.

Sam George has once again sent another message to Ursula Owusu. This comes after he alleged that the National Communications Authority had secretly told Telcos to block outgoing calls of customers who are yet to register their sim. According to Sam George, he is ready to fight this battle against Ursula to the logical conclusion. He noted that until Ursula admits that she is wrong the fight will not end,

Interestingly, Sam George dared Ursula to block the over 2 million unregistered sims if she had power by September 30. He added that he and others were ready to use the law to bring down the Communications Minister from her horse. Earlier today, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly called A-Plus took the NCA and the Attorney General to court for blocking the sims of unregistered Ghanaians. Aside those who haven’t registered, many who claim they have registered were also blocked.

Sam George encouraged those whose lines have been blocked to stay calm because their sim cards will be unblocked latest by tomorrow. Interesting times ahead. How will the legal tussle go? Will the NCA deactivate sims by September 30? What about iOS users who are yet to get the registration app on Apple Store?
