In his quest to develop his town and for that matter to leaves an envious legacy for the next generation to emulate, the chief of Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Nana Amoapem Brenya I is on the roadmap to archive that agenda.
Nana Brenya I is reportedly said to have dished out a whooping sum of Ghc 70,000 (about ¢ 700 million old currency) to compensate landowners who allowed their lands to be used for the agenda 111 projects for the town.
According to sources close to the chief the said compensations was from Nana Brenya’s own resources.
The compensations cover among others, 15 acres of land, palm trees and orange plantations on the land.
Confirming the story to the correspondent Nana Brenya I expressed his gratitude to the government for extending the project to Barekese which is now the District capital of the Atwima Nwabiagya North.
Nana indicated that as a chief it is his duty to ensure the welfare of his people as well as the development of the town.
The chief on this note assured of his commitment to ensure that the developmental agenda of the town is realized for the benefit of his people.
He took the opportunity to call for peace and unity among the residents and also rally behind his efforts to deliver.
In his brief contribution the Assemblyman for the Area, Hon Ernest Adusei commended Nana Brenya I for for his gesture that have seen a successful take off, of the Agenda 111 project at Barekese.
Hon Adusei said the town recognises the numerous initiatives that Nana Brenya I have been taken to develop the town.
Stressing that it was due to the chief’s hard work coupled with his cooperation hence as an Assemblyman he rallies behind him to champion a common cause for the town.
