A cab driver in Accra has gone naked in protest of MTN Services Providers deleting his SIM card.
The driver who is believed to have been the object of NCA’s disciplinary action took it personally and insulted the and MTN.
A man was spotted on a video praying to the gods while holding what appeared to be Schnapp in the middle of the street after parking his car next to the MTN office at Darkuman Junction.
This week, the National Communications Authority (NCA) implemented various punitive measures against individuals who have not registered their SIM cards.
This new policy went into effect on Monday, September 5, 2022.
Outgoing calls and data services for a consecutive batch of numbers would be stopped for two days weekly on a rotational basis, according to a statement signed by the Authority’s Director-General.
In addition, all outgoing calls would be re-routed to IVR for a message to be played before all calls were processed daily.
The current SIM registration exercise is set to finish on September 30, 2022, and those who do not register will face consequences.
