The National Intelligence Bureau has launched a full-scale investigation into the circumstances under which Chinese national Aisha Huang managed to return to Ghana despite her deportations in 2018.
This was revealed by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah on the Joy SMS show on Wednesday.
The Investigations, Mr Osei Mensah says, will be seeking to determine those who helped her to re-enter the country.
Aisha Huang, the galamsay kingpin, has illegally sneaked back into Ghana after she was deported from the country about four years ago after it emerged last Monday that the Chinese national has been arrested again in the country.
An Accra Circuit court, presided over by Bright Samuel Acguah, on Monday remanded Aisha Huang into custody after she, together with three other Chinese nationals, were brought before the court on charges engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals without license and mining without a license.
Aisha Huang was charged with a similar offence in 2017 but she was later deported out of the country.
Ghana’s former Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Manfo, later defended the government’s decision to deport her saying the country will gain nothing from prosecuting Aisha Huang, who has become notorious for engaging in illegal mining in the country.
