One of the highly ranked and instrumental members of the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP] Gabby Otchere-Darko has made an amazing point on the investigative publications from the Auditor-General’s department.
Gabby Otchere-Darko believes the demonstration to see quick action taken by the revelations made by the Auditor General is just in line.
Gabby Otchere-Darko: made this post on his official Facebook wall stating that: “Yesterday’s demo for greater accountability, transparency and value for money was a necessary and responsible action by largely decent citizens. It will be useful for Government to also demonstrate actions taken on Auditor-General’s reports”.
A lot has been raised over the unconcerned nature of the reports that have been published annually by the Auditor General’s department.
The demonstration was to sound an alarm of worry and the need for transparent accountability over the misappropriation and mismanaging of state finances without any satisfactory attempt to recoup those monies and bring the wrongdoers to book without fear or favor.
Gabby’s statement on Facebook needs the lauding of Ghanaians since all these erroneous happenings were recorded under the regime of the Nana Addo-led administration where Gabby Otchere-Darko happens to be a key influencer of the party’s doctrines and policies respectively.
