Gabby Defends Aisha Huang’s Return To Ghana

I Am Against The Anti-Gay Bill - Gabby Otchere-Darko

Leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Otchere-Darko has defended the return of Chinese Galamsay queen, Aisha Huang.

It is being alleged that Aisha Huang has illegally sneaked into Ghana after she was deported from the country in 2018 after it emerged last Monday that the Chinese national has been arrested again in the country.

Responding to public concerns on her return to the country, Gabby Otchere-Darko, a nephew to the President, took a swipe at Ghanaians and said that such incidents are not limited to only Ghana.

In a Facebook post, Gabby argued that Aisha Huang’s re-arrest shows a functioning system in the country.

“Why do we love to over bash ourselves? Even in the UK illegal immigrants (Black Africans included) sneak in. She’s been caught and is under arrest, there our system worked. Vote for a 2024 manifesto which promises you a wall across our borders”, he stated.

An Accra Circuit court, presided over by Bright Samuel Acguah, on Monday remanded Aisha Huang into custody after she, together with three other Chinese nationals, were brought before the court on charges engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals without license and mining without a license.

Aisha Huang was charged with a similar offence in 2017 but she was later deported out of the country.

Ghana’s former Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Manfo, later defended government’s decision to deport her saying the country will gain nothing from prosecuting Aisha Huang, who has become notorious for engaging in illegal mining in the country.
