Emerging reports in the media indicate that the Inspector Police (IGP) of the Ghana Police Service Dr George Akuffo Dampare ordered the arrest of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah as a birthday gift for one Reverend Kusi Boateng.
Reverend Kusi Boateng is said to have become the personal Prophet of the IGP after he prophesied the appointment of Dampare as IGP and lobbied President Akufo-Addo to comply with the same.
On Sunday, September 12, 2021 Rev Isaac Owusu-Bempah and 6 others were arrested for attacking Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, formerly known as Nana Agradaa, at her Sowutuom home in Accra.
Reports indicate that at the time of the arrest and detention of Rev Owusu Bempah, Rev. Kusi Boateng was holding a birthday party which was attended by the IGP and Ghana’s Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
At the said birthday party, Dr Bawumia allegedly refused to answer calls from the Rev Owusu Bempah who was then calling for him to intervene in his arrest.
This led to Rev. Owusu Bempah believing that Kusi Boateng and Dr Bawumia may have a hand in his detention by the IGP.
Per the said media report, Rev Kusi Bpoateng is said to have gained political favours at the Jubilee House, Ghana’s seat of government, backbiting Rev Owusu Bempah in the process.
The two men of God are both said to be members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) but became rivals when Rev Kusi Boateng allegedly supplanted Owusu Bempah to become the lead prophet of President Akuffo-Addo.
This has not gone down well with Rev Owusu Bempah, the self-acclaimed prophet of the nation, hence the ensuing feud between the two men of God.
This is what resulted in Rev Kusi Boateng allegedly requesting the arrest of Rev Owusu Bempah to show him where the power now lies in the annals of NPP and government following the attack on Nana Agradaa.
