Government Must Provide This To Fight “Ghost Names” :The IAA Has The Antidote To The Issues

TV3’s Alfred Ocansey hosted three legal professionals on the Key points show. Lawyer Edudzie Tamakloe, Lawyer Kpemka and Lawyer Dr Eric Oduro Osae.

During the panel discussions, Lawyer Edudzie Tamakloe explained that the IAA Director may not require prosecutorial powers or the Act to be passed before going to the courts.

Lawyer Tamakloe suggested that the Attorney General could help the IAA by releasing a “fiat” to enable IAA to exercise some powers.

The IAA Director explained that there was a need to bridge the staffing needs to ease forensic audit assignments.

Dr Oduro also stated that the fight against ghost names should be done by motivating the IAA staff.

” At IAA, we work directly with the working papers and we monitor the ghost names. It would help if the government would motivate the staff of the Internal Audit Agency. Our staff are paid lower remunerations as compared to the staff of the Auditor General.”

What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
