Austine Woode a journalist at Kumasi-based Luv FM has lamented that the people who supported Paul Adom Otchere to show disrespect to Togbe Afede without knowing authority must be respected are now telling us the need to respect traditional authorities.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 26th August 2022 he wrote;
“In Ghana, something is right or wrong based on who did it and who is analyzing.
2 months ago, the people who supported Paul to show gross disrespect to Togbe Afede XIV and didn’t know traditional authority must be respected are today telling us about why we should respect Chiefs.”
Austine Woode, argued that, the problem with Ghana is not bribery and corruption but dishonesty and lies.
Background
This opinion by the Luv FM journalist was triggered by the ongoing brawl between Odike and the Ashanti Traditional Council.
The above Council banished Odike for his comment made on Oyerepa FM that, Manhyia palace and other chiefs in Ashanti region are to be blamed for the ongoing galamsey. He said he will organize the youth of Ashanti to do demonstrate if nothing is done by the Otumfuo because their lands and rivers are being destroyed.
Oyerepa FM has been shut down by the order from the Council because they gave the platform to Odike to pass those comments. Some people are of the view that, Odike spoke against the authorities and should have at least show respect to them.
