6 Important Things To Know Before Shaving Your Armpits

Some of us choose to shave our armpits because of the way it makes us feel. Medically, shaving your armpits does not have any health benefits. One of the most popular ways that people shave their armpits is through the use of shaving sticks.

However, you should consider shaving your armpits in a way that won’t cause any damage to your body. Some of these injuries are razor burns, wounds, or skin irritations. Shaving your armpits has a process that you must follow. Here are the things you need to know before shaving your armpits:

1. Ensure that your armpits are free of sweat and not sticky. If you recently applied a deodorant, you will have to take your shower first and allow them to dry before shaving them.

The salty fluids in your armpits, secreted by the sweat glands, and the sticky substances in deodorant, can choke the blades or clippers that you use. If you cut yourself in the process, it can lead to infection.

2. Check that your skin is soft and not dry. It is recommended that you shave while taking your bath or make sure your skin is wet before shaving. When your skin is wet, your skin pores will open up and make things easier.

3. Make sure the skins in your armpits are tautened. You can do this by raising your elbow. Ensure that you shave gently and don’t put too much pressure on the same spot so that you won’t have skin inflammation.

4. Remove the hairs in the blades after every shave so that the shaving can be very effective. Don’t clean the blades with your fingers. You can use water or blow them off with your mouth.

5. After shaving, apply skin moisturizer to your armpits to protect yourself from skin inflammation.

6. Never apply perfume or deodorant immediately after shaving your armpits so that you won’t burn the skin in your armpits.
