In the Gospel Music fraternity, some older artists are regarded as mothers and fathers of the industry. The likes of Tagoe Sisters, Daughters of Glorious Jesus and Stella Seal, are generally upheld in extremely high esteem due to the repertoire of music knowledge that they possess.
It was not surprising when the management of Stella Seal became offended when the image of their artiste was on Obaapa Christy’s flier without any notice or arrangement.
According to the management, that notice with Stella Seal’s picture should be regarded as fake. Stella Seal’s team heavily called out Obaapa Christy for trying to make money out of Stella’s image.
The issue seemed to have died until Obaapa Christy granted an interview to unleash her side of the story.
According to Obaapa Christy, she recognises Mama Stella as her mother and so if she erred, she apologises.
Obaapa Christy also indicated her displeasure with how Mama Stella handled the whole issue.
” I know that I made a mistake but the way Mama Stella took the issue out of proportion, it could be her way of using this chance to trend. I believe a good mother should not throw away her child but see how she threw me away for my error”.
” I apologise but the concert was planned to honour legendary musicians like Mama Stella. Unfortunately, we could not inform her before her outburst”.
Stella Seal also appeared on the radio station to respond to the ‘apology’ message. ” How can my daughter Obaapa Christy apologize and blame me at the same time?”. Stella Seal used the opportunity to send a strong message to Obaapa Christy.
”She has disrespected me by not calling me after my management called her out. Obaapa should know better. I do not have a problem if I perform once a year. My issue is that my fans should not be misled to come for a show to see my absence”.
” Obaapa Christy, let me tell you that It was wrong that you did not call me before and after I called you out. I do not have time to record you” Stella Seal added.
