Popular broadcast journalist and Master of Ceremony, Kwasi Kyei Darkwah made a bold declaration about the public service sector on Joy News today. He explained that here in Ghana, anybody in public service who cannot go on leave is stealing. He added that anybody who cannot be moved for somebody to do the work is hiding something.
A staffer at the Office of the Vice President, Krobea Kwabena Asante, has responded and reacted to that claim. He stated boldly that all what KKD said is a fallacy of hasty generalization. He explained his statement with bold constitutional facts.
“This is a hasty generalization. Some hardly go on leave because they enjoy event based leave per Act 651 and that triggers their accumulation of leave, the annual one. It is a reason the Public Service Commission revised the policy framework on leave entitlements and its management to resolve any impasse between employers and employees.
“Is KKD telling me that Mr. Daniel Domelovo accumulated his annual leave because he was stealing?”, he added.
The bit with Mr. Daniel Domelovo even disproves the whole claim KKD made. Based on what KKD said, then everybody can say that KKD was stealing so KKD faulted in generalizing and everyone into it.
Krobea Kwabena Asante later sent a very bold message to KKD.
KKD should put much gusto into his newly found advocacy work because his views will be antithesied and if they do not make logical conclusions and should stop the sweeping findings.
Many people are wondering the motive behind this ranting from KKD which many describe as “needless”. Some people are saying that he can sense the NPP will be in opposition for a long time. So he is doing that so he will get some favour from John Dramani Mahama. This can be seen from how he was talking positively about Mahama.
