Nana Addo Storms Bagbin’s Constituency; Check What He Did

Election 2024 is two clear years away and the parties involved are preparing towards it. President Akufo Addo knows how difficult the election ahead could be. He equally knows that the fate of his party lies on his achievement. That aside, his achievement needs to be communicated to the populace otherwise it’s a waste.

The President stormed the Upper West region in a two day visit as part of his tour of the country. President Akufo Addo visited three constituencies the Nadole Kaleo constituency, the home constituency of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin. In the hometown of the Speaker, the President commissioned a 13 MW Solar Power Project. In Wa, he commissioned the Wa Sports Stadium which was renovated by Mr. Bagbin. He also inspected some ongoing projects in the region before leaving for Accra.

Nana Addo communicated this in his Facebook page intercepted by CitizenOne.

From Monday, 22nd August to Tuesday 23rd August 2022, I embarked on a 2-day working visit to the Upper West Region, which took me to Wa, Lambussie, Nandom, Issa, Kaleo and Wechiau.

Amongst others, I commissioned the 13MW Solar Power Project in Kaleo; inspected ongoing work on Phase II of the Youth Resource Centre in Wa; inspected ongoing work on Agenda 111 Projects in Lambussie, Issa and Wechiau; and paid courtesy calls on the Paramount Chiefs of Wa, Lambussie, Issa and Wechiau, amongst others.”

While in Nandom, the President granted an interview to a local radio station where he touched on a number of national issues.

According to Nana Addo, Ghana is in a very difficult situation but the government of Nana Akufo Addo is not responsible for that. He said the hardship in the country is caused by Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian war. He however assured Ghanaians that his government will work hard to bring the country out of the bad economic situation.

He said it is shocking that NDC supporters are rejoicing over the difficult times Ghana finds itself now. He said NDC is making a big mistake by thinking that Ghanaians will bring them back to power in 2024 due to the current temporary difficulty situation. He stated that NPP is going to win 2024 just as it won 2016 and 2020. He concluded that he his has a duty to hand over power in 2025 to an NPP president.

It is not clear what Nana Addo will do if NPP loses 2024. Some people are raising concerns that the President’s promise to hand over power to NPP president is becoming one too many. They think this determination is not healthy for our democracy.
