A US based Ghanaian journalist and owner of Loudsilence TV, Kelvin Tailor and ace journalist with Metro TV, Paul Adom Otchere have been known to be archenemies since Adam. While Kelvin is always exposing corruption in the government, Paul has made it his job to protect NPP in everything it does whether good or bad. As such the two have never agreed on any issue in Ghana.
But surprisingly the two journalists seem to be teaming up for the first time against another journalist by name KKD.
Over the past week, conversations in the media has centred on comments made by the renowned journalist. The media man granted interview to GTV and apparently attacked certain individuals in NPP government for the first time. His first target was Ken Ofori Atta who is the finance minister.
KKD as he is affectionately called said Ken is the cause of Ghana’s Problems. He said the finance minister’s Databank is the financial adviser for Ghana anytime we go for a loan. This means the bank benefits directly. He added that as Ghana takes more loans, it becomes poorer but at the same time Databank becomes richer.
He also expressed disappointment in parliament for allowing Ken Ofori Atta to milk the state in this manner.
In another interview, KKD extended his attacks to the CEO of National Lotary Authority Sammy Awuku and Enterprise Insurance. According to him, Awuku is learning fast from the crimes of some wicked people in NPP. He alleged that an advertisement contract that was intended to be warded to GTV was diverted by Sammy Awuku to a private media house where he can benefit.
While many people praised KKD for speaking the truth, Paul Adom Otchere did the exact opposite. According to Paul, KKD’s outburst was not borne out of patriotism but envy. He said on his Good Evening Ghana program on Metro TV monitored by CitizenOne that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Databank serving as transaction advisor because Ken Ofori Atta resigned as CEO from the in 2012. He added that there were other transaction advisers Absa bank and HFC bank.
In the same vein, Kelvin Tailor gave it to KKD. Kelvin said although the finance minister is a criminal, KKD’s outburst cannot be construed to be a sign of patriotism. Speaking during his ‘with all due respect’ political talk show on LSTV monitored by CitizenOne, Kelvin Tailor said if one observes KKD closely, one can conclude that the man has his target. He alleged that KKD’s first target was to destroy Ken Ofori Atta. He added that his second ambition is to kill the presidential ambition of Sammy Awuku.
Explaining further Kelvin said there is nothing wrong with what Sammy did with the GTV advertisement contract because very few people watch the national TV channel these days. Meanwhile NLA is to make profit and that explains why the contract was re-awarded to a private media house. He has therefore called on Ghanaians to take the comments of KKD with a pinch of salt.
