KKD’s Advice To Paul Adom Is As Piercing As The Spear; He Is My Little Brother But I Will Say It

Readers can recall how King Kwasi Kyei Darko made some revelations on Kafui Dey’s show about the wrongfulness of giving transaction advisory functions to Databank due to the conflict of interest arising between the investment bank and Ken Ofori Atta.

Interestingly, Metro TV’s Paul Adom Otchere did an editorial on whether the conflict of interest in respect of Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta should be prohibited if it is for the good of the country.

Onua TV’s Captain Smart, however, invited KKD to reply to attacks from Paul Adom Otchere and some other commentators.

On Monday, 22nd August 2022, KKD mentioned that Databank enjoys 9.6 per cent of all bonds. He added,” Enterprise Insurance is doing well at the expense of State Insurance Company”.

When Captain Smart asked KKD how he felt about the comments of Paul Adom Otchere about him, KKD revealed that Paul is his younger brother and he does not want to spoil the relationship that they share.

According to KKD, it takes only the wise man to speak the truth to power. In other words, Paul and others can only speak the truth to the poor and needy but not powerful persons.

He advised that “if you are a child, do not allow yourself to be used to insult the elderly” adding that the country’s debt stock keeps rising because the same transaction advisors who receive the 9.6 per cent commission are the same that advise the government to take more loans.

KKD also recounted how Paul asked him to reserve a seat for him at KKD’s programme at Movenpick which he gladly did.

He said, “Paul walked into the show with his ‘girlfriend’ instead of his wife”. KKD advised that Paul is a married person and should behave like one.

Are these words of KKD not so painful even though he promised not to hurt Paul?

Many would expect our uncle KKD to retaliate with some harsh words, but KKD’s advice is on another level; hotter than a furnace as it intrudes on Paul’s lifestyle.

What would have happened if he wanted to verbally attack Paul? What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
