Wisdom for Success: Run towards your fear.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

If we keep trying to avoid our fears, they will run after us like wild dogs. The worst thing we can do is close our eyes and pretend they don’t exist.

The world’s best-kept secret is that on fears’ otherside is success, prosperity, fruitfulness and greatness. There is something wonderful and beneficial waiting for you.

Fear cages courage and keeps you from moving forward to fulfill your destiny. When the two spies returned from the land of canaan, they reported of giants in the land and told the people that they were like grasshoppers in their face. However Joshua and Caleb were not afraid because God had told them to go forward and take the Land. (Numbers 13).

If God had not given them the assurance of conquering the land, they would have every reason to be alarmed. Fear is not a signal to turn and run from the giants but a signal to what lies beyond the giants. 

The book of Judges tells a story about a man called Sampson upon whom the Spirit of the Lord rested in his time who was not afraid of his enemies(Judges 15-21). He killed many philistines in his day.

He also destroyed a lion that pounced upon him to eat him up.

David brought down Goliath with a stone and slingshot.(1 Samuel 17:50). 

Start doing what you are afraid of doing today and conquer your fear. Emerson once said, “The greater part of courage is having done it before,” Fear of doing it can only be cured by doing built by doing it again and again.
