Koio Poku is a renowned energy expert and a member of the New Patriotic Party’s communication team.
TV3 Ghana posted a picture of Kojo Poku and the reactions from the length and breadth of the country were interesting.
The post by TV3 Ghana was cautioned on some comments noted to have been made by Kojo as he advised ECG not to succumb to the pressure from the people of Krobo.
The caption further added that ECG should do its best to collect the GHS168million unpaid bills from the Manya Krobo.
Interestingly, the issue under discussion has been ongoing since 2014 and it was only right that the authorities looked for an antidote. Koio Poku, as an energy expert, advised that the best thing to do was to press harder to recover the debts owed since they were taxpayers’ money.
Whilst some Ghanaians agreed with Kojo Poku and expressed displeasure on why the people of Krobo would refuse to pay for their utility bills, other Ghanaians advised that the unpaid bills should be waived by the ECG.
Who then bears the cost of the utility enjoyed by the residents? Should Kojo Poku’s advice be accepted?
What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
