LPG CYLINDER REFURBISHING CARTEL ARRESTED AT KENESHIE IN ACCRA
On Monday, August 08, 2022, the Ghana National Fire Service worked with the Ghana Police Service to apprehend a cartel consisting of three (3) males and one (1) female that specializes in refurbishing old and abandoned LPG cylinders at Swanlake Masalachi, North Kaneshie in Accra.
The group’s modus operandi is to obtain old cylinders, weld worn-out metal pieces together, spray them again, and resell them in the open market, blatantly disregarding all LPG manufacturing safety and pressure testing requirements.
The combined squad raided the cartel’s manufacturing facility and took out many old LPG cylinders as well as the tools they use to carry out their crimes.
