Accra Hearts Of Oak And Asante Kotoko Expected In Africa Super League, $100 Million For Competition

The Confederation of African Football will be adding another competition to the existing ones, and that will be named Africa Super League. Clubs across the continent will part take in this novel competition. Reports indicate that 24 teams will be allows to play in the Africa Super League. The new competition promises to bring lots of financial benefits to participating teams. Below are some details of the Africa Super League.

•$3.5 million to 24 participating teams to buy players and cover expenses.

•$100 million in total prize money.

•Each member association will receive $1 million from Super League funds.

The organizing body CAF is yet to make known how clubs will be selected for the maiden time. There is the chance of CAF using Africa club rankings to arrive at the number of clubs that will play in the competition.

All other things being equally, Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are tipped to make it to the first edition as Ghanaian representative.

The clubs are presently part of clubs goin to play in 2022/23 CAF inter club competition. While Asante Kotoko is scheduled for CAF Champions League, Accra Hearts of Oak will playing in CAF Confederation Cup.

The Africa Super League will run along with the existing competitions.
