Ghanaian representative in 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup Accra Hearts of Oak will take on the winner of RS Douane vs AS Bamako game. Accra Hearts of Oak are part of a list of clubs exempted from the first round of preliminary matches of this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
Accra Hearts of Oak got the opportunity to play in CAF Confederation Cup after lifting Ghana’s FA Cup. The rainbow club defeated Bechem United 2:1 in the finals at the Baba Yara Stadium to lift the trophy. Caleb Amankwaa and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh salvaged the moment for the Phobians as Bechem United had taken the lead.
In the closing stages of the first half when Bechem United were in comfortable lead, Caleb Amankwaa equalized for Accra Hearts of Oak. Daniel Afriyie Barnieh later in the second half sealed victory for the Accra-based club.
As part of efforts to ensure a successful campaign in CAF Confederation Cup, Samuel Boadu and his lads have kicked off preseason with the aim of getting a better shape before venturing into full business.
Having been exempted from the first round of matches, Accra Hearts of Oak will make judicious use of that opportunity to prepare fervently for the winner of above mentioned game.
