Check Out What Paul Adom Otchere Told The Dormaahene When They Met In Sunyani

On Wednesday President Akufo-Addo stormed Sunyani and commissioned Phase 1 of the Sunyani Airport. The rehabilitation includes the extension of the runway from 1,280 meters to 1,400 meters, repair of the apron to accommodate small to medium aircrafts and the construction of the airport internal roads.

This commissioning sparked the airport debates as Ghanaians started comparing airports built by John Mahama and the ones being rehabilitated by Akufo-Addo. Interestingly, any time President Akufo-Addo commissions a project or completes it a challenge begins among supporters of Ghana’s two biggest parties.

A number of government dignitaries attended the programme. Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II and his chiefs were in attendance to receive the President at the Sunyani Airport. Agyemang Badu II is the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs. The high court judge is also seen by many to be one of the fiercest critics of the Akufo-Addo administration. The overlord of Dormaa expressed his support for John Mahama in the last elections and has been vocal when it comes to politics.

Ghana Airports Director and host of Good Evening Ghana was one of those that went with President Akufo-Addo. Yesterday on Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom Otchere narrated that he was delighted to see Agyemang Badu. In an excited posture Paul explained that he shook hands with the king and said, My Lord, I am here”. He added that the Dormaahene responded.

It was a sight to behold seeing Paul shake hands with the Dormaahene. From the way Paul did the explanation it seems he had for so long a time been desiring to be acquainted with the Dormaahene, who many see as one of the most proactive rulers in Ghana.

Both personalities are affiliated to different political parties. It was extra joy seeing the President and the Dormaahene also exchanging pleasantries despite their differences. President Akufo-Addo hopes to complete the Sunyani, Kumasi and Tamale airports within time and fully open them before leaving office.
