Whenever The Issue Of IMF Comes, Don’t Tag Me In It- NPP MP Boldly Tells Journalist

About some weeks ago, the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo gave Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta the go ahead to have talks with International Monetary Fund (IMF). The reason of Ghana going back to the IMF is to seek assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to enable the country to meet its payments to the rest of the world and restore the health of government finances.

Many people have criticised the government for taking such a decision because the NPP government pledged never to take the country to IMF. According to what the government said some years back, going to the IMF means one has mismanaged the economy. So the government going back to the IMF hasn’t sound well to meaningful Ghanaians.

Since the decision to go back to the IMF pops up some NPP party gurus and MPs have shirk away whenever the topic of IMF pops up.

Minister of Energy, Hon Mathew Opoku Prempeh seems to be one of the MPs who are not “happy” when asked about IMF.

The Energy Minister has boldly told Omanhene of Adom TV in an interview that he shouldn’t ask him questions pertaining to IMF because he is not part of those who said the country will not going to IMF. He told him not to tag him whenever the issue of IMF pops up because his field is not Finance but rather Energy or Education.

He said when journalists are talking about IMF, they should mention names and not put all of them in it.What do you think about this news? Let us know what you think in the comment section.
