The Ghana Police service is seeking the assistance of the general public, hospitals, and health facilities to help with information to arrest some armed robbers.
According to the police report, their outfit has information about a planned attack on the Gold buying Shop at Konongo.Â
The Police moved swiftly and foiled a robbery attack on a gold buying shop at Konongo in the Ashanti region.Â
The Police explained that they received a distress call and an ongoing robbery attack on the Adom Gold buying shop today around 7:30 pm. The Police responded and moved quickly to the scene. While the robbers fled the scene upon seeing the Police, they started shooting indiscriminately, injuring an officer. Police returned fire, but the robbers managed to escape.
The officer is currently on admission to the hospital and in stable condition. The Inspector-General of Police has spoken to him and the commanders on the ground.Â
There is currently an ongoing anti-robbery operation in the area to get the suspects arrested to face justice. ,
The service, therefore, urges community members to remain calm and be on the lookout for any suspicious persons among them and inform the Police accordingly.Â
They also urge hospitals and other health facilities in the area to report to the Police any persons who report to them for treatment of gunshot wounds or any other wounds.Â
The Police want the general public to rest assured that the perpetrators will be arrested.
