The Presidential Candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Madam Ekua Donko has expressed worry about the rising trend in which some personnel working in the Ghana Police Service have been allegedly conducting themselves to disrepute the good name of the Service.
Ekua Donko observed that the Inspector General of Police Dr George Akuffo Dampare have since his appointment making efforts to restore discipline in the Service, some alleged bad nuts in the Service tend to thwart his move.
The leader of the Ghana Freedom Party made the allegations in reaction to what he termed, an alleged unlawful surveillance of a Kumasi based police officer who have some time now been chasing to serve her with an alleged bench warrant from a Kumasi Circuit Court.
According to Ekua Donko she though have a pending case at the Kumasi Circuit Court, no one has got her informed about when the case would be commenced.
She said the court has also not given any notice to her nor her agents in the case, let alone the main parties whom she have a case with them.
She said she attended funeral in Cape Coast in the Central Region some few months ago when some one got her informed that one Police lnspector Amoako stationed at the Ashanti Regional Police headquarters was after her.
She said becoming suspicious about the news she allegedly conducted her persoal investigations in Kumasi only to discover that her case was still pending.
Ekua Donko alleged further that there was no police inspector by name Amoako in her pending case.
Adding that she also don’t know or have met the said police man anywhere before.
The leader of the Freedom Party insisted that she was shocked to wake up one day in last week only to come across an alleged summons letter from lnspector Amoako in her Accra residence.
Stressing that checks also revealed that the said court summons was not from the court her case was pending.
Ekua Donko said her suspicion also heightened to the fact that if it is true that any court was after her, why did the server of the court summons failed to deliver the summons personally to her instead of dropping it in her house and left.
The politician indicated that she had tried in several occasions to find out from the police officer but to no avail.
She also alleged that it was true that it was Inspector Amoako who was tasked to do the job.
Ekua Donko alleged that she sees that her life is in danger with the said threat court summons hence she is drawing the attention of the police boss to bring Amoako to book to help set the records straight.
I have also forwarded the said court summons to the Office of the President, State Attorney, and copied the IGP among other Security Agencies for attention, Ekua Donko told journalists.
We publish elsewhere in this site the alleged court summons for public attention.
