The ruling New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer race is heating up. This race started right after the party won the 2020 elections and it had to take some party big wigs to call on the aspiring contestants to calm down. It is no secret that the race to who leads the party in the next elections will between Alan Kyeremateng, the Trade Minister and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
This two-way race has got interesting with the addition of Assin central MP. Kennedy Agyapong has expressed his strong desire to contest and though many feel he doesn’t stand so much of a choice; some believe he could be the kingmaker in the election of the flagbearer. Well the NPP are celebrating their 30th anniversary since its creating and this has sparked some rumors.
An NDC communicator, Dzifa Gunu has posted a rather controversial poster on his Facebook page. The photos speak about tomorrow’s thanksgiving service for the 30th anniversary and this has caused many to react. The photos have Bawumia in one photo with President Akufo-Addo and the NPP executives while the other photo with same date and executives has Alan Kyerematen.
Some feel the contest has already begun while some comments feel the party hasn’t been fair to Kennedy Agyapong since he is also contesting. It is uncertain which of the photos is true or whether both are correct, does Kennedy stand a chance. Check out the reactions.
