Can we as Ghanaians agree with what the inspector general of the Ghana police force is insinuating, or it’s just another ploy to divert the matter at hand?
The Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare does not seem satisfied with the findings, not only regarding his outfit but in other areas methodology among others.
The Ghana Police Service has blamed the public, partly, for the perception that it is the most corrupt institution in the country.
The Service said all of its personnel have been trained professionally and are expected to discharge their duties without inducement.
“The Service has almost now become the default institution of choice for such research and has therefore encouraged a deep-seated public stereotype over the years.
“This stereotype may easily influence respondent choices and it is, therefore, fair to expect that you factor it in assessing the validity of your findings,” Dr. George Akuffo Dampare noted in his statement.
One important thing to be done here is to ascertain the way forward and not to shift the blame on Ghanaians.
