The African Nation Champions qualifiers were played over the weekend, this qualification is the first round phase, teams that qualify from this stage will be matched up with the highest rank team in the second round.
A total number of 13 first league matches of the lowest ranked teams were played from Friday to today, winners of the first round after the second league will meet the tougher team, and the Second round teams who are waiting for the team of the first round are Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Togo, Congo, Equatorial Guinea Cameroon, Chad, Dr Congo, Rwanda Uganda and Sudan.
The CHAN tournament will be held in Algeria in 2023 because of that the host, Algeria and Morocco have automatically qualified for the final stage of the competition.Â
 Ghana Black Galaxies defeated their Benin counterpart 3-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium, goals from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Mohammed Alhassan and Captain Gladson Awake secure a win for the Ghanaians. This result has set the tone for the second league which will be played at the Stade de L’Amitie General Mathieu Kerekou in Cotonou, Benin. The winner of this tie will play against Nigeria in August.
Ethiopia drew a goalless draw with South Sudan in Tanzania, South Africa went to Comoros to beat them by a goal to nil, and the second league will be in Soweto.
