Once Nigeria Is There, If We Had To Go Under The Sea To Qualify We Would- Gary Al-Smith Says

One of Ghana’s most recognised and widely known journalist, Gary Al-Smith has boldly told Nigerian runners that, Ghanaian runners will always outrun them even if it will take these runners to go under the sea.

Gary Al-Smith jabbed Nigerians, after the Ghanaian 4×100 relay men team qualified to the 4×100 relay finals at the World Athletic Championship in Oregon, USA.

Nigeria was part of the teams that started the Men 4×100 relay at Oregon but they were disqualified in the heat 1. Ghana happened to be in the same heat but the Ghanaian team successfully qualified to the final after they finished third with 38.58s behind United States of America (37. 87) and Great Britain (38. 49).

Gary Al-Smith took to his Facebook to report this right after Ghana’s 4×100 relay team qualified to the final. But a fan on his Facebook platform commented that, just because Nigeria was in the group Ghana had to qualify.

Gary Al-Smith went to the comment section and replied the follower by saying that, “once Nigeria is there, if we had to go under the sea to qualify we would.”

The Ghanaian team was made up of Benjamin Azamati, Joseph-Paul Amoah, Sean Safo Antwi and Joseph Manu. The final will be Sunday at 2:50am Ghana time.
