The National Democratic Congress (NDC), member of Parliament for Buem, Hon. Kofi Adams, has stated that the New Patriotic Party’s economic management team they highly rated as a ‘solid team’ has now changed into a ‘gaseous team.’
Mr Kofi Adams who was responding to various issues regarding the current state of the economy from free SHS to the decision for IMF support noted that some of the excuses the ruling NPP government is given to the current crisis is unacceptable. He cited the example of the COVID-19 pandemic the government always uses an excuse stating that the COVID-19 pandemic rather gave Ghana more money than the country spent according to government’s own COVID-19 expenditure accountability.
Kofi Adams in an interview monitored on OkayFM therefore argued that if the government keep hiding behind unacceptable excuses, they are only justifying their incompetence. He established that the solid team professed by the Vice President is now completely missing out of action and that it is now a gaseous team.
According to Mr Kofi Adams, with proper planning in the agriculture sector, the current issues for instance with feeding in the senior high school can be resolved. He added that if the government check the wastage which the economic management team was supposed to have done if not that it is now a gaseous team, the country can raise money internally to resolve the current crisis in the Free SHS.
Mr Kofi Iddie Adams (born 2 May 1975) is a Ghanaian politician who is a member of the National Democratic Congress. He is the member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency in the Oti region. He is a former National Organizer for the National Democratic Congress.
