Bawumia the Vice President of the Republic’s assertions on the economy and digitization has generated some controversies online. In his voice “But if you gave me 1000 interchanges and a Ghana Card, I will choose the Ghana Card because it is more impactful”.
Whiles some think that his digitization drive is essential to the development of the nation majority have a different view. To them, this statement of the second gentleman of the country sounds ‘funnier’ and has created online challenges on several social media platforms.
Ghanaians naturally are humorous and would make jokes out of issues no matter how serious they might seem. Some posted their pictures with the Ghana card in hand at fuel stations, others placed it in a bowl or plate to indicate that with the Ghana card you have food at home.
The hype surrounding the Ghana card is just too much! All of these are just for laughs. However, Let us not cheapen some of the progress we have made because we have some economic problems to deal with.
