The ruling Patriotic Party is scheduled to host their national executive elections tomorrow. The elections will come off at the Accra Sports stadium. The NPP seeks to break the 8 and are bent on electing the best of hands to lead the party in winning the next general elections in 2024. After the elections of the national executive this month the party will then be set to enter the final round of elections in electing a flagbearer.
The biggest position for tomorrow is who will become the National Chairman of the party. Those the competition here will be tense; many see Stephen Ntim to snatch the seat in the end. On The Keypoints on TV3 today, Saturday, July 16, 2022, Alfred Ocansey read a letter from the leadership of the party in the United States.
According to the letter, the party needs to expand the electoral college. They called for members to be in the party’s good standing and make consistent financial contribution.
“We cannot mortgage the future of the party to few resources members who will come to the aid of the party financially during hard times to survive just for their own personal parochial gains. The party has to be self-sustaining, visionary, recreative and transforming in their approach,” the letter read.
The United States leadership also called on the party not to marginalize or force people out. They called for an all-inclusive united party in order to break the 8.
