The latest sad story coming from Kumasi-Kejetia, has reveals that, the Central Market has been hit by a flood of water (but not from the rain).
The Kumasi Central Market (Kejetia Market); is an open-air market, in the city of Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
The Kejetia market, Built by Former President John Mahama, is the largest single market in West Africa.
Information from the region revealed that, businesses at the Kejetia Market, have come to a standstill, after water from some burst pipes, flooded several shops within the market today (Friday morning).
The information captured on 3news.com stated that, “The traders woke up, to see almost all their goods and produce soaked heavily in the flood.They complain the consistent pipe bursts have been woefully affecting their businesses. This is not the first time such incident has happened as at least it come the third time this year”.
3news revealed that, “The traders sounded angry, demanding from city authorities to compensate them, to waive off the huge losses the pipe bursts have been causing them”.
“They further appealed to city authorities to, as matter of urgency, fix the situation permanently and ensure consistent maintenance to avoid such pipe burst from recurring”, the report added.
