Comparisons all over as the current government finds itself drowning in a heavy pool of hardship. The current state of the economy has left Ghanaians bombarding the president and his members on their failure to do as they promised when they were in opposition. They have rather worsened things as the prices of petroleum and other goods and services are nothing one could talk of for they keep increasing within short periods for its blamed on the recent coronavirus pandemic and the ongoing Russia Ukraine war.
As at now, the government has resorted to engage the IMF in a negotiation to seek for support after the masterplan E-levy was not delivering up to task. This decision has caused a lot of propaganda for the NDC also went to the IMF foe support and received same backlash from the NPP when they were in opposition. This has created a good avenue for the NDC to hit the ruling government hard in a form of retaliation.
At least, with Mahama’s government going to the IMF, the country saw a lot of developmental projects from schools to hospitals, roads to the expansion of existing facilities like the airports and others. Yet still the NPP are criticizing his era saying he did nothing. Writing from the official twitter page of Peace FM is an interview with NPP’s Lawrence Antwi, a team member of national communication over the current issue at hand and he made his opinions and claims. Talking on the good projects the sitting has undertaken to improve the lives of citizens and also to increase employment like the “One District, One Factory”. After hailing his own party amidst the current challenge, he emphasized on the calls for Ofori Atta to resign and stated that, “if anybody needed to resign, it should have been Mahama for he was indeed incompetent”. It was as a result of internal mismanagement and was free of external influence that made the NDC to seek for an IMF loan but that of the NPP is external.
