Ghanaian teachers have requested an increase in pay. The Teachers Association of Ghana asked the government to increase their pay by forty percent or else they would go on strike. Without any shadow of doubt, teachers have gone on strike. Which made a lot of people talk about the strike they went on.
Nana Yeboah is a popular actor in Ghana. He said why did Ghanaian teachers go on strike just because of payment increment? He also said why did teachers take money from the government during the COVID-19 lockdown without teaching? He also said that the government has to sack all the teachers and bring in new ones.
Kwadwo Asmoah, the mid-morning show on Hot FM, also said teachers in Ghana should not behave in that manner. Teachers should understand that Ghana is facing financial difficulties. They should relax a little bit for the government.
Nana Ama Grace, an NPP delegate, also said that teachers are paid all the time despite the fact that their payment is low. They should take it like that because some of the government institutions haven’t received payment for about six months now. Therefore, teachers should take all this into consideration and act accordingly to stop the strike.
