According to Dr Nyaho Tamakloe, a board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, the phobians will be willing to let go of their talisman Afriyie Barnieh if they receive a suitable offer for him. If Hearts of Oak sell this guy, they can’t be considered a serious club. With the kind of impact the guy is having at the club, there is no need to sell him now. They don’t even have a replacement that can do what the young man is doing.
Hearts will be playing in Africa next season and they need all their best players available. The departure of Barnieh will only weaken the team further. He is their main firepower upfront. He was their top scorer in the just-ended season with 10 goals. He also won the presidents cup as well as the FA Cup with the club this past season.
Hearts of Oak should not entertain any offers for the young man now. He is still very young. At least he should stay with the club for 2 more seasons. If Hearts of Oak put their house in order properly with all the right structures, they will return to the pinnacle of Ghana football and Africa in the not too distant future. They shouldn’t let all the huge investments Torgbui Afede is making go down the drain.
