A former member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs has finally revealed why the demonstration by Arise Ghana wasn’t successful. Arise Ghana group embarked on a two-day demonstration to speak against the extreme hardship Ghanaians are suffering in the country under President Akufo-Addo.
While speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, Allotey Jacobs boldly revealed that the Arise Ghana demonstration wasn’t successful because it had a very low turnout. He revealed that it means a lot of Ghanaians are not their demonstration and all the issues that were associated with it.
“ Every demonstration is done with a large group of people and if those people fail to show up then, the demonstration becomes a patapaa demonstration. Even though everyone has the right to demonstrate but Ghanaians do not like violence. So I was expecting the Arise Ghana demonstration to be peaceful but it wasn’t. There was that motive and intention to create trouble in Accra through their demonstration. So clearly, you could see that the demonstration wasn’t successful because they lacked the numbers.” Allowed Jacobs revealed this on Peace FM.
