Popular and Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni following the ongoing Arise Ghana demonstration has cautioned the participants not to engage in violence. He believes that they are fighting a good course.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, 29th June 2022, he wrote;
“You’re fighting a good cause. Don’t disfigure it with violence. Please, don’t.”
The comments of Mannaseh follows the ongoing Arise Ghana demonstration against the government.The whole demonstration is to bring to light the hardships in Ghana. They are talking about E-levy, inflation which is on the loose and fuel prices that are skyrocketing.
Yet various videos and reports confirms some form of violence from some of the demonstrators. In a viral video, some of the demonstrators were seen pelting and hurling stones at the Ghana Police Service personnels.
The Police have also arrested some of the demonstrators following what they see as voilent conduct. Other videos also confirms some of the police personnel using force to drive the protesters away from where they want to enter.
