“Why should he invest in this league when he can sponsor Date Rush? Nana Obiri Boahen quizzes with regard to the Ghana Premier League.
According to the lawyer and politician, it isn’t like he is looking down on the the Ghana Premier League, but he thinks it not an attractive venture to invest in.
In a news chanced on at ghbase, Nana Obiri Boahen made this statement in an interview on Okay FM. To him, the standard of the HPL is too low, therefore making it unattractive for any investor to pump money into it.
He was of the assertion that TV3’s show dabbed ‘Date Rush’ would even be more lucrative than the GPL.
He also disclosed that he’s heard that the Ghana Football Association is having challenges getting a sponsor for the GPL and quizzed “I’ve heard the league has no sponsors and that the GFA is having trouble finding sponsors. “Why should he invest in this league when he can sponsor Date Rush? The league’s standards are subpar.
The GPL since the exit of its former boss Kwasi Nyantekyi has not had any sponsor as Zylofon Cash which was their only sponsor withdrew after Nyantekyi’s exit.
However, if we care about the GPL, there are a lot of businesses and onwners who can sponsor them. Ghanaians need to do something for ourselves.
