It would be recalled that Asantewaa speaking in an interview on the United segment stated that it doesn’t matter how relevant and powerful the musician is or how long the music has played the game but as it stands now, songs cannot garner the desired attention on social media without the help of TikTokers.
“It doesn’t matter how long you have played your music game, when you release the song it is no longer about the craft unless the song is being given to us, else you will have to jam to the song yourself”, she said.
In reaction to that, Kwadwo Sheldon stated that Ghanaian musicians have composed hit songs that have trended in the country for ages without the help of TikTok.
He mentioned the likes of Sarkodie, Daddy Lumba, Shatta Wale, Manifest, Stonebwoy, and other great musicians have had their songs trending beyond the shores of Ghana without the assistance of TikTok.
Sheldon averred talents have been nurtured and they have sold their crafts beyond the shores of Ghana with or without the help of TikTok, hence Asantewaa’s assertions about the prowess possessed by Ghanaians TikTokers hold no substance.
