The minority leader in Ghana’s Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu has boldly exposed President Nana Akufo-Addo and Ken Ofori-Atta Over Covid-19 money received and spent. The minority leader reveals that the two people are surprisingly giving different figures concerning the amount of money spent on Covid-19.
While speaking in Parliament after the finance minister had presented the Covid-19 accounts, Haruna Iddrisu revealed that the President and his finance minister are giving different figures and that’s very surprising. He then questioned where is the missing money? The Minority Leader also revealed that either the President or the finance minister is not being truthful to Ghanaians.
“Mr. Speaker, the Minister at page 4 in his statement accounts for GHS19.3 billion as programme support received then Mr. Speaker when you come to expenditure on Covid, he accounts for GHS12 billion, then the President accounts for GHS17.7 billion. So where is the missing money? GHS17.7 billion against GHS12 billion, where is the money?” Haruna Iddrisu quizzed on the floor of Parliament.
The President accounted for 17.7 billion Ghana cedis when he was reading the state of the nation address early this year.
