Mr. Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, a former municipal chief executive (MCE) for Ejisu, has warned his fellow party members not to dwell on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-appalling Addo’s performance because it does not guarantee the National Democratic Congress (NDC) victory in the general elections of 2024.Â
“Let me issue this warning to my fellow party members: Akufo-lies Addo’s and your appalling performance do not guarantee that you (the NDC) will win the elections.” On Pure FM Kumasi, Mr. Afrifa Yamoah Ponko said, “That is not real; it doesn’t function that way.”
He advised the NDC to put more effort into working hard, recruiting hard workers, and effectively communicating their message to Ghanaians so that they would be understood, as this would aid them in their campaign for success.Â
The country’s main opposition party lost to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in both the general elections held in 2016 and 2020.Â
Corrupt practices and poor economic management, which had previously been used by the opposition New Patriotic Party as a campaign tactic, were some of the contributing factors to their defeat, particularly in 2016. (NPP).
President Akufo-Addo has been accused of making the same errors the NDC made in 2016, six years after he assumed office.Â
Political analysts and social pundits claim that the Akufo-administration Addo’s is worse than his predecessor’s in terms of suffering and corruption.
As the cedi weakens against major international currencies, the cost of food and petrol is soaring.Â
However, Mr. Yamoah Ponkor stated that his party needed capable leaders to help them defeat the NPP while speaking to Kwame Adinkra on the Pure Morning Drive.Â
In order to put the NDC and John Dramani Mahama back to power and steer the nation in the correct direction, he emphasized, “We need guys, individuals who can communicate to make the party visible.”
