Our educational system in Ghana, is something that one could call insufficient. Most people go to school to learn so that they can better their life. Education has to do with the acquisition of knowledge, though our system in Ghana is a little different. People go to school, they are taught and they do acquire knowledge alright. The benefits of education can be very profiting, yet Ghana’s educational system is not stable.
Today, there are many graduates on the streets with no jobs. All because our way of education is insufficient. Why? Ghana’s educational system is mostly based on the theoretical aspect. Student’s in our schools barely do any practical works. I mean a person needs to learn and practice right, so why learn and not practice. The number of times students are taught to use their knowledge acquired in theory for practical works is minimum.
If Government wants to improve on Ghana’s educational system, then it should encourage more practical works in the various schools. Infact, schools should teach more of practicals and less theory. Because, what is knowledge if you can’t utilize it for anything. The world right now is developing, people are building and making inventions. Assuming one has the knowledge and potential to invent, but doesn’t know how. How well then does he go about doing so. That’s the system in Ghana right now. So in acquiring knowledge, it is important to also be able to produce something out of that knowledge. A reason why Government needs to encourage more practical works in our schools, which can and will lead to a better country in the coming future.
