Popular writer for the ruling NPP, PK Sarpong following the press release by the Cathedral Secretariat has commented that Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and lies are always in symbiotic relationship. He believes that Okudzeto’s claims about the National Cathedral are all lies as he has been exposed by the the Secretariat release.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, 18th June 2022, he wrote;
“Ablakwa’s Anti-Cathedral Crusade Hits a Snag as Secretariat Exposes his Dishonesty on Otabil’s Membership of Board of Trustees
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and lies are always in a symbiotic relationship as the trajectories of his effusions clearly show a consistent twisting of facts and figures. He has this affinity for peddling falsehoods and he does these with finesse.”
PK Sarpong added that on the National Cathedral, the NDC MP for North Tongu was emphatic that Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil has resigned from the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral.
According to PK Sarpong, the Secretariat of the National Cathedral has clarified the issue and has, consequently, dumped these lies into the dustbin. According to the release from the Secretariat, Pastor Mensa Otabil did not resign from the Board of Trustees as Ablakwa and his people have been spinning in the media space.
“The Board of Trustees had to be registered as the Directors of the . A member of the Trustees, Dr. Mensa Otabil, the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church, had indicated that he couldn’t give the needed attention to the project so he didn’t register” part of the release states.
“So, Dr. Mensa Otabil did not resign from the Board as being alleged, but excused himself at the point of registration of the Directors in July 2019. For the avoidance of all doubt, Dr. Otabil had not been a member of the Board or Trustees since July 2019” the release emphasized. He wrote.
He argued that this simply means that Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil was never a member of the Board of Trustees to begin with, let alone resigning from same. Ablakwa and all the media houses that joined him in projecting such an image of the status of the National Cathedral have misled Ghanaians to believe otherwise.
PK Sarpong concluded that it is lazy Journalism that has led to the media houses swallowing the lies of Ablakwa.
